Here at IT Chronicles we would like to congratulate Erika Flora for being awarded the SmartCEO Magazine’s 2017 Brava Award. Our team had the pleasure of talking to Erika at Fusion15 about women in management roles – you can see the interview here. Erika is a beacon, not just for women in IT, but for women as leaders in any field of endeavor. Well done Erika!
Erika is CEO of Beyond20, an IT Service Management consulting firm and IT Best Practice Training provider. The Brava Awards honor the distinguished achievements of high-impact female business leaders who combine their irrepressible entrepreneurial spirit with a passion for giving back to the community.
“I am honored to receive this award,” said Erika. “Further, I count myself blessed to have an entrepreneurial mother as a role model. She taught me the meaning of hard work, the importance of doing work you love, and to always give help and show kindness to others along the way.”
Erika has worked in the IT Service Management and Project Management industry for more than 15 years and has been a strong voice and advocate for those both within and outside of IT. Throughout her career, she has mentored students and professionals of all ages and has been involved in organizations that help women and entrepreneurs alike, including: the Ellevate Network that helps women advance in the workplace – both for themselves and the greater good, Seed Spot that helps entrepreneurs start ventures that positively impact their community, Build MetroDC that engages students from under-resourced communities through entrepreneurship mentoring and coaching, as well as WIT (Women in Technology) and the Leadership Foundry that works to advance women to the corporate boardroom.
