Boosted Board Technology – Are You Ready?

boosted board

Technology is one of those areas that is always changing, evolving, and moving forward. It can feel like every new day brings about a new discovery or product meant to make our lives easier, more productive, and more convenient. All you have to do is blink and youโ€™ve somehow missed a big exciting technology release.

With that said, it can be difficult to keep up with all the advances and pinpoint those products and services that truly will impact your life and your future. Whether youโ€™ve heard of it or not, boosted board technology seems to be the latest one to hit consumers and quickly catching on.

If you are unfamiliar with this type of technology, and want to know how it can benefit your future, the check out the following details:

What is Boosted Board Technology?

Boosted board technology is actually quite simple. It is an electric skateboard that makes getting around extremely simple and fast. A slim motor and battery is fit onto a skateboard and works to spin the rear wheels. The motor typically uses dual carbon belts, which for those who have ever looked into e-bikes will recognize since it’s the same system.

Powering the board is a 40V lithium ion phosphate battery. In order to control the speed there is a hand-held remote that is simple to operate. To go faster you just push the throttle forward, then pull back in order to slow down. Now, here’s the really cool part, when you slow the board down, the battery charges thanks to the motor regenerating it.

Obviously, each board is different, but in general they can carry about 250lbs of weight. As for the top speed of these boards, it clocks in about 20 mph, which is a whole lot faster than you’d be able to travel just by walking.

It should be noted that this board isn’t meant to feel like a classic skateboard. What this means is that you can’t expect to be able to perform a kick-turn and maneuver as easily as you can on the traditional type. There is definitely a learning curve involved, but once you catch on itโ€™s pretty smooth. It helps to approach this device as its own separate entity and not treat it like a โ€œskateboardโ€, rather treat it like itโ€™s a completely different mode of transportation.

What Does this Mean to Your Future?

Now, that weโ€™ve covered the basics of the technology, the next point to address is how this device can benefit your future. Boosted board technology is giving people another way to commute and travel from point A to point B. While itโ€™s not going to move as fast as a car, it certainly offers a fair amount of speed. For those short trips that donโ€™t seem worth driving, and you really donโ€™t want to walk, this is an excellent option.

With a single charge, you can travel up to 12 miles. What this means is that you have a fair distance you’re able to go in a short amount of time. It’s the kind of commute people often use public transit, an Uber, or even their car for. If you happen to live in a particularly populous city, those 12 miles can take quite a while to travel. On a boosted board, you’ll be able to zip past all the traffic reaching your destination very quickly.

Of course, thereโ€™s also the fact you will never have to worry about finding a parking spot ever again. How many times have you been forced to circle around waiting for a spot to open up, and then spend a fortune just for a short time? When you reach your destination, your board is light enough and convenient enough to carry with you.

Another question people often ask is how it performs on steep inclines. Let’s face it, most cities aren’t made up of flat, smooth surfaces. Not to worry, as the board’s motor is able to handle up to a 25% grade when climbing hills. That’s actually quite steep, which means in the majority of cases you should be just fine. If youโ€™re traveling downhill and need to stop suddenly, the brakes can be engaged instantly and you will stop without any issue.

These boards are also constructed to be durable enough to handle uneven and rough terrain in urban areas. This is accomplished by using vehicle-grade durability features, so you know the board can take what you throw at it. Because the deck of the board is made from bamboo, you’ll also find that it does a good job at absorbing shock as you travel over bumps.

Transportation of the Future

There is no question about it, the Boosted Board technology is both impressive and exciting for those who live in urban areas and are looking for an alternative transportation option. Save time, money and stress by zipping through the city with a boosted board.
